South Tyrol's Historic Hotel 2010

The jury's verdict: "The Zirmerhof in Radein is an object that, in its peripheral location, can itself be seen as interesting proof of developments in tourism. The establishment has remained true to itself in its extensions and alterations and there is no break in form. The wood-panelled rooms, the rustic furniture and its integration into the green countryside give the Alpine Hotel ‘Zirmerhof’ a unique charm."

The title Historic Hotel of the Year is awarded by the Stiftung Südtiroler Sparkasse (South Tyrolean Sparkasse Association) together with the Landesdenkmalamt (Bureau for the Preservation of State Monuments) and the Hoteliers' and Innkeepers' Association (HGV) to a hotel for conscious and meticulous care and for historic elements of architecture and furnishings.
