Origin of the Dolomites

The World Heritage Site a stone's throw away from the Zirmerhof

When the region of Radein was still by the sea or a little under it (about 200 million years ago), corals, mussels and Bellerophon snails built the attractions of the Bletterbach Canyon. It is because of this that you can see the geological formation of the Dolomites, dinosaur tracks and fossils as in the most beautiful textbook. The canyon is unique in Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009.
